Organizing Goals for 2013

I’m baaaaaaaaaaack. December was a doozy. Things were so hectic with planning/entertaining that it barely left room for me to keep myself organized. December literally took the life out of me. For real. I am really not sure how I managed to breathe, but I now know that I will take on less obligations in December. The first few days of the New Year were spent getting my house back to normal. It’s pretty crazy how much better I felt once I purged all of the holiday leftovers & cleaned out my fridge! REFRESHING! I hope you’re starting the new year right!

Anyways. I am happy to be here and I am happy you’re here. I have missed you.

I want to set a course of action for this year. I had a list last year, but we when we moved, a majority of those items became irrelevant. We’re still settling into our new/old house. Things are starting to take shape and we have ideas of what we want to do. With that said, let’s talk about my goals!

-finally organize Cooper’s old clothes (seriously lagging on this one)

-do a master purge of unnecessary items in our house/craigslist stuff

-change/pinpoint bad habits that contribute to our home mess

-manage my calendar efficiently

-clean out/manage my computer files

-purge art supplies & organize what’s left

-finish the bar cabinet by adding more shelving

-find a better system to organize my photography props

-create a system for organizing Cooper’s toys

-clean out/ organize the garage

-clean out the room that stores all of my parent’s items

-set up a laundry station

-make a master list of all of the home improvement projects we plan to tackle this year

-go through the kitchen & evaluate the use of each cabinet/purge/organize

-organize the inside of Cooper’s bathroom cabinet

That’s what I have so far. I am pretty sure there will be more items to add. I can’t wait to tackle this this year.

Just a side note- I’ll be posting every other Wednesday this year.

2013, LET’S DO THIS!!!

  1. LOVE these! I need to make a list as well. It’s easy to get off track, but this helps gain a little perspective on what really needs to get done.

  2. We’ve had a list of things to do on our house since we moved in. It’s daunting to think of how much there is to do. Good luck in your projects.

  3. Wowzers! Sounds like you have a lot of purging going on!! I have been purging and organizing since early December. I finally purged my 20 year Martha Stewart Living magazine collection. This was a very big deal for me. Happy 2013! Looking forward to hearing about your home renovation pans. Seeing them too!

I’m so glad you have so many projects. That means more blog posts!! I’ve missed them.

  7. Ahh, the garage. Someday we’ll park our car in it. I would happily take it on, but it’s mostly my husband and father-in-law’s stuff and I really don’t have a clue what most of it is. ;)

  8. So glad you are doing these posts. Love high straightenence posts they totally inspire me to clean out the closets and drawers. I just cleaned out the attic after the holiday, before putting the Christmas boxes back up. Two car loads to good will and one trip to the dumps, the attic is so organized almost unrecognizable! love it!

  9. hooray! high straightenance is back!
