Wouldn’t it be great to get away for a fun, food-centered, learning retreat – minus the ‘networking’, business cards and SEO workshops?
Well, that’s why we created the HomeFries U retreats.
Homefries U retreats are seasonal, fun retreats hosted by many of the personalities behind your favorite Homefries.com podcasts.
You don’t have to be a food blogger, you just need a free weekend and an appetite. Come join us!
Update: TheAtlantic.com posted a great article profiling HomeFries U! Check it out here.
The first Homefries retreat took place in Palm Springs, in 2011. There were cooking demonstrations, cocktail classes, photography workshops and friendship bracelets. It was fun! But don’t take our word for it, read what some of the attendees had to say about it here, here and here.
I met lots of amazingly dynamic women (and a few men) from all over the country with an array of different interests, backgrounds, and passions. All in all, it was an amazingly beautiful weekend and I returned to LA with a satiated stomach and happy soul –Kelsey
Oh, and the digs weren’t too shabby either.

When we walked into the retreat house I thought, for a second, that we were on America’s Next Top Model or something…this house was one of those houses – Zoe
Well, in the Spring of 2012, we are doing it again!
Spend your Spring Break in Palm Springs, CA taking cooking classes taught by Joy the Baker and Tracy from Shutterbean. Take your media skills to the next level with audio, video, and still lessons from Emmy winner, Michael Friedman. If you love a good cocktail, let Nathan from The Table Set woo you with hand crafted drinks you can recreate at home. We’ll craft. We’ll laugh. We’ll make friends. We’ll learn how to be better at the things that we love.
Plus, we will have a couple special guest presenters from around the web that you definitely won’t want to miss.
It’s simple. Here at Homefries, we want to move beyond the blog. We understand the value of gathering together to create and learn. We also understand how necessary it is to enjoy giant bowls of pasta and good red wine with new friends. This isn’t a blogger centric retreat. It’s the gathering of a community that is eager to learn about food, photography, cocktails, crafts, and simple life hacks. It’s free of pretention and chocked full of earnest learning.
And this time, Homefries U is going international! 2012 brings new ways for you to enjoy the Homefries U retreat from across the globe! Details to follow soon. We want you to be with us!
