Hi guys! Welcome to Show Notes for Episode #20. Is it ‘What Comes Around, Goes Around’! Or ‘What Goes Around, Comes Around’? Whichever way you say it, this episode is all about things that have been gone forever and have somehow made a comeback! Not only that, we have a crash course in the Snickers Candy Bar history, a little ‘Snickers 101′ if you will, about every limited edition flanker European edition that you never knew existed. Canadians are able to enjoy ’Snickers Maple’? We like it.
At The Because Show podcast, we are devoted to providing not only amusing entertainment for your ears, but also useful info for your brain! With Wikipedia as our source, we discover that a myriad of Snickers have been unleashed over the last decade. For example:
- 2001: Snickers Cruncher bar (rebranded Snickers Munch in some markets, still sold as “Cruncher” in Germany, Romania, Egypt, Poland, Latvia, Austria, Slovakia, Israel, Sweden, The Netherlands and Bosnia)
- 2002: Snickers Almond bar
- 2002: Cookies & Snickers
- 2004: Snickers Marathon energy bars
- 2006: Snickers Duo
- 2006: Snickers Xtreme (5 grams (0.18 oz) of protein per serving, lack of nougat)
- 2007: Snickers Dark (dark chocolate)
- 2008: Snickers Charged (limited edition, contains caffeine, taurine and B vitamins)
- 2008: Snickers The Lot (Crispy pieces in a thick cream, caramel, sprinkled with a large amount of nuts, covered in chocolate (Australia and New Zealand))
- 2009: Snickers Fudge
- 2010: Snickers Maximus, a limited edition with only caramel & peanut in the centre.
- 2010: More Nuts, a limited edition featuring 10% higher nut content
- 2010: Snickers Almond
- 2011: Snickers Peanut Butter
- 2011: Snickers Squared
If you listened to the entirety of Episode 20, you heard the amazing story of Fast Eddie, the news of the upcoming tour of Van Halen and Peter Frampton and the new single from Brandi/Monica ‘It All Belongs To Me’. It’s been 14 years since Bronica dropped a single, 14 years since Van Halen toured and 35 years since Peter Frampton released ‘Frampton Comes Alive’. Do you remember when that Brandy/Monica song came out? Did you used to listen (or still listen) to Van Halen? Would you rat out your meanie father-in-law if you discovered he was a notorious bank robber? Do you believe that Peter Frampton was reunited with his beloved guitar 32 years after it was lost in a plane crash?
It’s not all news & commentary though -there are personal stories to throw down. Perhaps you have a funny story or salacious tale you would like to share with us? Shoot us an email at thebecauseshow@gmail.com and we’ll read it on an upcoming episode. Perhaps you just want to give a shout-out to something you’ve noticed that has gone around and come around? Go for it!
Soooooo, we’re pretty much at the end of our Show Notes. This is where we wrap it up and say goodbye until the next episode. And where we say ‘if you have questions, thoughts or feedback, leave us a comment. Better yet, call us and leave a message at 818.643.1565…Maybe you have a topic suggestion or book recommendation for us? Don’t be shy!’
p.s. iTunes reviews. Love ‘em.

Hello friends! I thought I would drop you a line to let you know how much I appreciate this podcast, and since the three of you take the time to give us such entertaining real talk each week I might as well take a minute to say thanks. I adore how you let your personalities shine and can put an interesting twist on even the most beige topics. Over the past couple of months I have made it through all of your episodes and am now anxiously awaiting each new podcast. Also– Jerilyn, I have also spent a night in jail for shoplifting a few grocery items, of all things. Thank you for making me slightly less crazy!

Thank you Lacy, now I feel less crazy too! And I like that you appreciate our twists on ‘the beige’!

Ladies! I left an iTunes review a while back about the Burrito Baby episode and listening to it with my husband while HE ate the world’s most unnecessarily girthy burrito… You asked, when you read it on air, how it turned out and I’m pleased to report… he died. Very tragic. No, he’s fine but didn’t learn a thing from the moral (ha!) of that episode and still gorges himself on food with no concern for his cardiac health or intestinal fortitude. Some day I’ll be brave enough to leave a voice mail, until then, I’m still listening and praciting safe portion control. Now off to listen to the latest show!

NikkiFooFoo, I think you may have a dark & twisted sense of humor and I like it.

After listening to you guys for a year and a half I am finally writing a listener comment. This is because while listening to your show today it finally hit me why I LOVE The Because Show so much: When I was about 10 the big show on TV was ‘Charlie’s Angels’. Yes, I was a child of the 70′s. Anyway, my friends and I would always take turns being the different Angels when we played and my favorite Angel changed from week to week. Listening to your show I get the same feeling I got from watching ‘Charlie’s Angels’- This week I want to be Jerilyn but last week I was SO Amy. And I am always Susan when she starts telling her saucy tales! Thanks for a great show, I am always telling my friends to listen because it makes me so happy. Have a great week!

AWESOME! A ‘Charlie’s Angels’ analogy!!!!! Love it.
Thanks for finally leaving a comment! And, oh, thanks for telling your friends – that warms my heart!
