Hello friends!

Welcome to another Joy the Baker Podcast.  Things are about to get pretty intensle (that will make sense after a listen).

On this week’s episode, we’re surprising each other!  I make mention of my V-card, and it’s all up hill from there!  We discuss Oprah life facts, the best way to order a drink, and how not to get arrested.  What else is there?  A lot… nevermind.

We recorded this episode on Veteran’s Day.  Check out this Timelapse Transformation of a Homeless Veteran.   Tears.

One week, Tracy posted two cocktail recipes on her blog.  Her mom thought it was a cry for help.

Prickly Pear Cocktail!

Let’s use Oprah’s Favorite Things 2013 list to delve into her life.  Oprah likes Barn Jackets and these mid-shin Ugg Boots.

For all their comfort, these boots do your legs no favors at all (ok.. warmth).

We talk a lot about interacting with cops.  It’s nerve-wracking.  I clench my fists and Tracy tries not to pee her pants.  We’re weird.  An Ex-Cops Guide To Not Getting Arrested.

We need a drink!! The Science Behind Getting A Bartender’s Attention.

We thank you for joining us for another podcast!  That’s Tracy dancing.  The dude behind her seems to be trying to fly away.

  1. Audi drivers in Spain are &@#%& too!!!!!

  2. I’m personally really glad you’re both ‘putting yourselves out there’ :o) Keep just being you – like the lass at the gym, when I’m at home on my own all day, I love having your crazy random nattering to keep me company. Your ‘you-ness’ is the secret of your success. xx

I super enjoy all your podcasts. I work in a lab basically on my own for 90% of my day so the fun banter between you two is like having two friends chatting while I go about my work. Whenever there is a Joy the Baker podcast waiting for me in the morning I know it is going to be a good day. Thanks for putting yourselves out there!

Sometimes I feel we’re having a convo when I’m listening to your podcasts… because they are so like convos between my friends and I. I have actually replied a few times or offered up a, ” I know, right?” LOL Also funny cause I work in an office with other workers…

  5. This link has been so relevant this week. #lovesandwich, get it, Oprah.

  6. Joy and Tracy–thanks so much for another great podcast! You two are so inspiring.

Joy-you mentioned on your blog that you were in NC teaching at some workshops. I would love to go to a workshop taught by you. How can I find out about them??

    Thanks!

My dearest friend passed away two years ago. There are many days I want to grab the phone and chat with her, but can’t. I stumbled upon this podcast a few months ago, it has helped me cope with not listening to my friends voice anymore. The topics you both discuss sound like the conversations my dear friend and I would have except, we used lots and lots of expletives! Thank you for making me smile..

Love you guys! You’re like the friends I would make if I wasn’t afraid of people. Thanks for many hours of happy listening.

  9. These comments are all awesome to read because I feel the exact same way about the podcast! I paint in my studio ALL day every day by myself and when I listen to your podcast it feels like I’m a part of a real conversation. And it makes me laugh, which is a huge plus! I’ve listened to you guys from day one and haven’t missed a single podcast…that’s how much I love you. :)

  10. Yep. I’m going to join the chorus. I’m a TV news photojournalist in Los Angeles, and spend my days stuck in traffic where sometimes going 30 miles can take three hours (you can feel my pain, Joy). You two seriously help me keep my sanity. It’s like having a cocktail party in my news van. Keep up the great work. Never doubt yourselves.

I’ve almost commented before but haven’t, and now I feel the need to chime in and say that you two really, really brighten up my days at a boring desk job. I really appreciate how real both of you are, on the podcast and on your blogs – it’s very refreshing in the sea of fake perfect lives on the internet. Please keep it up!!
