  1. totally enjoyed this, but it was cut off at the end when talking about holidays and eating. is there a way to hear the full podcast?

    • It may be that your browser didn’t load it all the way. You may want the download link. Or try to reload the page. I just checked and the full hour is there. Good luck!

  2. I really enjoyed this and many of your podcasts. I especially enjoyed hearing about Bend, OR which brought back fun memories of skiing at Mt. Bachelor while I lived in Oregon for several years. I’m back in the brutally cold NE for now. It sure was frosty this morning but still sunny and nice enough for a walk this afternoon. Thanks for the encouraging support.

Great episode! I found this really informative. I have a couple of questions… what foods would you categorize in children’s terms that are for making us strong, energizing, healthy etc? I liked that analogy.

Also, I understand and have that “baking problem”, nit just in the holiday season though. In my efforts to get away from some of our processed snacks like fishie crackers, teddy grahams etc (we have elementary aged kids and a toddler as well as after school daycare), and to cut down on packaging and garbage, I have been trying to bake more cookies, muffins, loafs etc. I do cut way down on the sugars and oils in them and use whole wheat flour etc but as noted in the podcast, I am more interested in eating them too, and then this becomes something that is always on hand and desired. We also serve a lot of fruit as well as popcorn for snacks. I guess my round about question is – do you have any suggestions for other snacks? We have to be nut free at our school as well.

thanks again – I loved the way in which “technical terms” were explained in everyday language.
